About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential consulting organization in Hamburg seeking an experienced HR Generalist (Personalreferent:in) to join their people team. In this central role, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers across all personnel matters, supporting the complete employment lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding.

This position combines meticulous administrative HR work with service-oriented consulting, ensuring HR processes run reliably, legally compliant, and professionally. The role is available immediately at 30+ hours per week (part-time or full-time) at their Hamburg location.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the go-to contact for employees and leadership on all personnel-related matters, reviewing employment law questions and ensuring compliance
• Draft employment contracts, contract amendments, work certificates, attestations, and general personnel correspondence
• Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, maintain personnel files and HR systems, and process vacation requests, sick leave, rehabilitation measures, special leave, and educational leave
• Coordinate employee benefits, key and parking management, and occupational health and safety initiatives including vaccination appointments, health screenings, fire safety, and risk assessments
• Prepare statistics and reports, support payroll preparation, conduct annual evaluations, and calculate reserve amounts for compensation levies, social contributions, and vacation accruals

What We're Looking For

• Completed commercial apprenticeship or degree with several years of professional experience in human resources
• Excellent German language skills (written and spoken); English proficiency is a strong plus
• Solid knowledge of HR administration and strong understanding of employment law matters
• Experience supporting payroll preparation and expertise in contract management, certification, and reference letter processes
• Careful, structured, and responsible approach to handling confidential personnel data
• Proficiency with HR systems; experience with Datev or HR Works is advantageous
