About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential building systems engineering organization in Hamburg that is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Site Manager specializing in measurement, control, and building automation technology. Our client delivers integrated technical building systems across multiple trades, combining electrical engineering, HVAC, automation, and project execution in a practical, results-oriented environment.

This role is ideal for professionals who understand building automation beyond theory—those who can navigate project execution, coordinate technical teams, manage construction site workflows, and communicate effectively with clients and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage ongoing construction projects in the building automation and control systems domain, coordinating staff, subcontractors, materials, and workflows to ensure quality, timelines, and project outcomes align
• Provide technical support for DDC programming, system commissioning, and project documentation while maintaining oversight of administrative project requirements
• Handle technical planning, cost estimation, invoicing, change order management, and construction site performance monitoring
• Collaborate closely with adjacent engineering disciplines, coordinate construction sequences, and serve as the primary contact for internal and external project stakeholders
• Engage with clients and contribute to departmental development and continuous improvement initiatives
• Bridge technical expertise, organizational leadership, and project management in a field of growing importance for modern buildings

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, or technical vocational training with advancement to Master Craftsman (Meister) or Technician certification
• Proven experience with building automation systems, measurement and control technology, DDC systems, building management systems, or comparable platforms
• Strong understanding of construction workflows, project coordination, relevant technical standards, regulations, and cost estimation principles
• System-agnostic perspective—familiarity with specific manufacturers is beneficial, but what matters most is your fundamental understanding of building automation, ability to explain technical relationships, and structured, cost-conscious, solution-oriented approach to projects
• Confident professional presence with clear communication skills and enthusiasm for bringing together technical teams, clients, and project participants
• Background in commissioning, systems engineering, or project engineering with interest in advancing toward site management or full project leadership is welcomed
