Lead Software Engineer GenAI-Engineering / Agentic Coding (m/w/d) – Hybrid (deutschlandweite Standorte)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential IT consultancy seeking a Lead Software Engineer to champion agentic coding practices across client engagements. This is a hands-on technical role embedded in customer projects, not a management-only position. You will rotate through client teams every three to six months, establishing modern GenAI-driven development workflows and creating lasting impact before moving to the next engagement.

In this role, you will:

• Introduce and embed agentic development practices into client project teams, establishing Claude Code and similar tools as core workflow components from setup through sustained adoption
• Build supporting infrastructure including review agents, MCP servers, test and documentation assistants, and AI integration into CI/CD pipelines to scale intelligent automation beyond ad-hoc experimentation
• Create reusable playbooks and standards distilled from your project experience, enabling other teams to benefit from your learnings
• Coach development teams through hands-on collaboration including pair and mob programming sessions, and provide technical expertise in workshops and proposal situations

What We're Looking For

Our client needs an experienced software engineer with deep enterprise project background and genuine day-to-day experience working with AI coding agents.

Essential qualifications:

• Several years of software development experience in complex enterprise environments, ideally with responsibility as Lead Developer, Tech Lead, or Principal Engineer
• Strong expertise in at least one enterprise technology stack such as Java/Spring Boot/Quarkus or TypeScript/React/Angular/Vue
• Production-level experience working agentically with tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor as part of your actual daily workflow, with concrete examples of how this has transformed your work
• Solid understanding of modern delivery practices including Clean Code, testing frameworks, CI/CD, microservices architecture, and deployment environments such as Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms
• German language proficiency at C1 level plus good English skills
• Willingness to work in a project-based rotation model with travel to client sites approximately 20–30% of the time
• Comfort with enabling teams, moving on to new challenges, and establishing new practices in different environments

The position is hybrid with three days remote work per week and access to approximately 20 office locations across Germany. Compensation includes a base salary approaching six figures with total package potential reaching €120,000–130,000 including performance-based variable components.
