Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential industrial manufacturing organization seeking a Strategic Buyer for Steel Construction. In this role, you will:
- Develop and implement commodity strategies for steel products including sheets, profiles, forged parts, and castings
- Analyze national and international procurement markets to identify sourcing opportunities
- Select, qualify, and develop supplier relationships
- Independently negotiate framework agreements, pricing, and commercial terms
- Conduct cost analyses and implement savings initiatives
- Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams
- Manage supply chain risks including availability, price volatility, and geopolitical factors
- Support make-or-buy decisions with technical and commercial expertise
- Resolve escalations within the supply chain
What We're Looking For
- Successfully completed degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in strategic procurement, ideally within industrial or related sectors
- Curiosity and passion for technical and commercial relationships
- Confident presence and strong negotiation skills
- Experience working with international suppliers
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and MS Office
- Analytical, structured, and independent working style
- Fluent German and English language skills
- High willingness to travel
