We are representing a well-funded Berlin-based technology company that is transforming professional services through artificial intelligence. Our client has secured significant venture backing, achieved product-market fit with paying customers, and is now scaling rapidly.

This role is ideal for experienced audit professionals who want to move beyond checklist execution and help build systems that fundamentally change how assurance work is delivered. You'll translate deep practical audit knowledge into structured logic that software can execute at scale.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex requirements from ISA and IDW standards into clear, executable workflows that software can follow systematically
• Design approaches for automated analysis of contracts and financial statements, including areas such as lease accounting under IFRS 16 and revenue recognition
• Develop quality control mechanisms that preserve professional judgment and ensure compliance with IDW PS 210 regarding appropriate use of automated procedures
• Ensure all system outputs can be properly integrated into audit documentation in accordance with IDW PS 450 and withstand quality control review
• Represent the organization at industry events, contribute to technical publications, and engage in regulatory discussions about technology's role in auditing

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 6 years of experience in financial statement audits, ideally from Big 4 or leading mid-tier audit firms
• Proven track record working at audit manager or senior manager level with engagement responsibility and understanding of professional liability
• Strong command of IDW PS, ISA, and HGB standards with ability to translate them into clear, reproducible processes
• Structured thinking ability—you don't need to code, but you can map decision trees, define required inputs, and articulate what a correct outcome looks like
• Motivation to shape the profession's future rather than simply advance through traditional career progression
• Native or near-native fluency in both German and English
• Willingness to work on-site in Berlin
