Finance Manager – Fixed Term Contract

Greene King is recruiting a Finance Manager on a fixed-term contract basis to join our strategic finance team at our head office in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. This is a full-time opportunity for a finance professional ready to drive financial planning and analysis within a leading UK hospitality business.

The Opportunity

This fixed-term Finance Manager position offers you the chance to make a meaningful impact within Greene King's finance function during a key planning period. You will work alongside experienced colleagues, contributing to strategic financial initiatives whilst supporting day-to-day financial operations. Based in Bury St Edmunds, you'll be at the heart of our finance team, collaborating with colleagues across the business to deliver robust financial management and insights that support decision-making at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards
• Support the development and monitoring of budgets across the organisation, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions
• Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic planning and business case development for new initiatives
• Manage reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Collaborate with department heads to gather financial data and provide tailored reporting and insight
• Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and systems
• Assist with audit preparations and liaise with external and internal audit teams

What We're Looking For

• Professional accounting qualification (AAT, CCAB, or equivalent) or substantial relevant experience in a finance management role
• Proven track record of financial analysis, planning, and reporting in a business environment
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software systems
• Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organisational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving ability and willingness to take initiative
