Senior Accountant

Join Inetum as a Senior Accountant in a fully remote role based near Bucharest, Bucharest, Romania. This is a full-time opportunity to lead financial operations and accounting initiatives across our growing organization, contributing your expertise to a dynamic and collaborative team.

Position Summary

We're seeking a Senior Accountant to take ownership of critical accounting and auditing functions within Inetum. You'll manage complex financial transactions, ensure regulatory compliance, and support strategic financial planning. Your technical knowledge and analytical approach will help us maintain robust financial controls and deliver accurate, timely reporting across our operations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness across all transactions
• Prepare and review financial statements, schedules, and supporting documentation for internal and external stakeholders
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures, coordinating with team members to meet reporting deadlines
• Support internal and external audit activities by providing documentation, explanations, and analysis of account balances and transactions
• Monitor compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting procedures and process improvements
• Collaborate with finance leadership to analyse variances and provide insight into financial performance

What You Bring

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, Accountant, or similar accounting role in a corporate or audit environment
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or equivalent international standards
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with enterprise systems is a plus
• Solid understanding of tax regulations and audit requirements relevant to your jurisdiction
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies or anomalies in financial data
• Strong communication and organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities
• Relevant accounting qualification or equivalent professional experience
