Liberis
Liberis is seeking a Head of Credit & Commercial Strategy to join our London team. In this full-time role, you'll shape how we evaluate credit risk, price our offerings, and deliver exceptional value to small and medium-sized enterprises and our partner network.
About This Position
Since 2007, Liberis has built a reputation as a leading fintech innovator, having deployed over $3 billion in funding to growing businesses. We're recognised among CNBC and Statista's Top 150 UK Fintechs for 2025 and named one of FinTech's Finest 50 by Welcome to the Jungle. Our team spans six continents with 290+ team members representing 27+ nationalities and bringing experience from over 740 companies globally.
We're now building a dedicated Credit & Commercial Strategy team that will unify our approach to pricing, decisioning, and AI-driven credit modelling. This is a critical leadership role that bridges our credit expertise and platform families. You'll report to a General Manager whilst working closely with our central credit and commercial craft team, positioning credit strategy as a primary driver of business decisions from the outset.
What You'll Do
- Define and execute credit and commercial strategy across your platform family, translating business priorities into credit questions and embedding our frameworks—including return hurdles, pricing models, and customer segmentation—into platform-level planning
- Lead commercial and credit initiatives end-to-end, from designing propositions (such as dynamic funding and pricing mechanisms) to identifying performance optimisation opportunities that drive results
- Work collaboratively across product, engineering, underwriting, and commercial teams to ensure credit and commercial considerations shape product roadmaps and go-to-market strategies from inception
- Partner with our Credit and Commercial Strategy team to develop, refine, and validate new models and decision-making approaches tailored to platform-specific requirements
Requirements
- Proven expertise in unit economics, credit analysis, pricing strategy, and commercial modelling, with ability to adapt Liberis' frameworks to new products and partnerships
- Capability to thrive in matrix reporting structures, balancing General Manager priorities with credit strategy alignment
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across product, technical, risk, and commercial functions
- Comfort working with undefined problems and emerging products, building solutions from first principles when playbooks don't exist
- Ability to translate complex credit and commercial concepts into actionable guidance for non-specialist stakeholders
