Electronics / Embedded Robotics Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential robotics organization based in the Potsdam area that is transforming heavy industrial equipment through advanced automation. Our talent team is seeking an Electronics / Embedded Robotics Engineer to join their innovative engineering group.

This position offers the opportunity to design mission-critical electronic systems and embedded firmware that interface AI-driven control systems with large-scale industrial machinery operating in challenging field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Design custom electronics including schematics, PCB layout, and component selection for sensor interfacing, power distribution, and machine control systems
• Develop and validate embedded firmware on microcontrollers for sensor acquisition, actuator drive, and safety-relevant functions
• Own the electrical architecture covering power budgeting, protection, grounding, EMC compliance, and rugged wire harness design
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and firmware from prototype through field testing to production deployment
• Ensure electronics and wire harnesses meet industrial reliability standards for harsh operating environments

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Proficiency in embedded C/C++ on ARM Cortex-M or comparable microcontrollers
• Proven experience taking electronics from schematic to working board using tools such as Altium or KiCad
• Solid understanding of communication protocols including CAN/CAN FD, I2C, SPI, UART, and Ethernet
• Practical experience deploying electronics and wire harnesses in adverse industrial or automotive conditions
• Strong knowledge of power protection and signal integrity principles

Preferred skills:

• Experience with off-highway machinery, automotive, or other safety-relevant platforms
• Familiarity with functional safety and EMC standards such as ISO 13849, IEC 61508, or CISPR 25
• Knowledge of electrical integration for Linux-based compute platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson or industrial PCs
• Experience with motors, actuators, valve drivers, and closed-loop control
• Track record of shipping hardware into production, including test procedures and field servicing
