Senior Product Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential AI technology company seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join their growing engineering team. In this role, you will work as part of a cross-functional, stream-aligned team alongside an engineering manager, product manager, designer, and 4-5 other engineers including a tech lead.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Building and supporting web applications using agile software development practices with a product-first mindset
• Working across multiple cloud providers including AWS, GCP, and Azure
• Supporting production systems with a "You Build It, You Run It" approach, maintaining intimate knowledge of products from code commit through to production operation
• Monitoring and maintaining stable systems observability using tools such as Datadog
• Collaborating with teams outside of product engineering and working closely with customers to understand their needs
• Pushing boundaries and questioning the status quo to ensure high value and impact for users
• Contributing to engineering culture and championing growth mindset within the team

What We're Looking For

Our client is seeking a 'T-shaped' engineer with broad practical knowledge across various areas of software development, likely with deeper specialization in either frontend or backend. The ideal candidate will bring:

• Deep understanding of modern web applications
• Strong experience building TypeScript/JavaScript applications and working with NoSQL databases
• Python programming experience
• Knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture
• Experience using AWS (Serverless) and/or GCP
• Understanding of the importance of driving quality through test automation
• Demonstrated experience supporting applications in production with good observability practices (e.g. RUM, Tracing)
• Experience working in collaborative environments with strong engineering practices
• Customer value focus and understanding of the product lifecycle
• Commitment to continuous, iterative improvement using data-driven decisions and feedback culture
• Passion for software development with an appetite for learning and self-improvement

Key Technologies: Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Vue.js, Django Rest Framework, container-based and serverless architectures, MongoDB, DynamoDB, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Celery, EventBridge, and DataDog.
