Data Migration Expert

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking an experienced Data Migration Expert to join their growing team in India. This permanent, work-from-home role offers the chance to work on complex data migration initiatives across multiple business platforms and markets.

Our client is expanding their data migration capabilities and needs a technical leader who can bridge the gap between stakeholders, solution architects, and delivery teams while implementing best practices for data extraction, transformation, and loading.

Responsibilities

• Lead data migration strategy development and execution, working closely with regional technology teams and local markets
• Design and implement end-to-end data migration solutions including extraction, cleansing, standardization, enrichment, loading, reconciliation, error handling, and audit reporting
• Provide technical expertise in Azure Data Platform, including Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, and Azure DevOps
• Develop and support ETL/ELT cycles for data migration and cutover activities across business platforms
• Conduct proof-of-concept evaluations for data migration tools and products specific to business platforms in scope
• Build reusable data templates and ETL code implementing industry best practices
• Lead technical resources focused on ETL development and implementation
• Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, and project managers to deliver migration projects across multiple markets
• Document market-specific data migration strategies and requirements, supporting approval processes

What We're Looking For

• 5 to 12 years of experience with demonstrated expertise in data migrations and data integrations
• Hands-on experience as a Senior ETL/ELT developer or architect with functional understanding in Finance and Operations, CRM, and project management platforms
• Extensive design, implementation, and support experience with Azure cloud data platform components
• Strong expertise with ELT using Azure Data Factory, implementing complex views, stored procedures, and standard data warehouse concepts
• Proven understanding of Data Integrations, Data Quality Management, and Master Data Management
• Deep understanding of ERP (Finance and Operations) and CRM data models with experience in migration projects
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau (advantage)
• Experience with Agile development methodologies (desired)
• Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for stakeholders
• Self-starting and accountable approach with proven project delivery track record
• Ability to prioritize effectively, remain calm under pressure, and structure solutions in ambiguous environments
