Senior Cloud Security Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join their Infrastructure Security team in Spain or Austria. In this role, you will proactively identify and mitigate security threats while collaborating closely with platform and data engineering teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Driving the cloud infrastructure security roadmap in partnership with product and engineering leadership
• Owning and defining initiatives, solutions, and frameworks to identify and mitigate security threats within AWS infrastructure
• Designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-native security solutions with end-to-end data protection, advanced threat detection, automated controls, and remediation mechanisms
• Conducting regular research to detect emerging attack vectors and performing threat modeling sessions
• Monitoring for vulnerabilities, performing ongoing risk assessments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on mitigation strategies
• Defining penetration testing scope and scenarios
• Developing and maintaining documentation to strengthen security posture across the organization
• Providing support through internal service portals
• Participating in security incident response on-call rotation and leading security incident resolution

What We're Looking For

Technical Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience securing AWS cloud infrastructure environments, CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments, and Linux systems
• Proven experience with security risk assessment and mitigation strategies
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and tactics including STRIDE, MITRE ATT&CK, and OWASP
• Understanding of cloud data security challenges and best practices
• Experience deploying and customizing security tools such as CSPM/CNAPP, vulnerability scanners, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, KSPM, and container runtime security
• Proficiency using CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform for automated security testing
• Hands-on experience with modern cloud technologies including virtual machines, containers, Kubernetes, and serverless architectures
• Scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go
• Experience with ethical hacking and penetration testing methodologies
