Build Infrastructure Engineer (Get A Job.ai IDEs)

Responsibilities

Our client, a leading developer tools organization, is seeking a Build Infrastructure Engineer to support their multi-language IDE platform. You will help streamline development workflows for a large-scale codebase spanning 14 GB of source code, hundreds of thousands of tests, and 500+ developers worldwide.

In this role, you will:

• Design and develop infrastructure that enables quick and efficient test execution across a diverse technology stack
• Build and maintain installer build pipelines and product release automation
• Support development teams with build tooling improvements and optimizations
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to understand their infrastructure needs and implement solutions
• Write maintainable, well-designed code using Java or Kotlin
• Work with modern DevOps tooling to ensure reliable, scalable infrastructure

What We're Looking For

We are representing our client in their search for candidates who have:

• Strong experience with Java or Kotlin development, with an ability to write clean, maintainable code
• Familiarity with build systems such as Bazel, Gradle, or Maven
• Experience with DevOps tools including AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Packer, or Ansible
• Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals and shell scripting, with comfort handling system administrative tasks
• A solid grasp of algorithms and computational thinking
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with openness to diverse perspectives and the ability to articulate technical decisions
• Willingness to collaborate across teams and contribute to shared goals
• Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and approaches
• Pride in your work and attention to quality

Nice to have: Contributions to open-source projects or personal development projects

Technical environment: Source code managed in Git, Java 17 and Kotlin codebase, custom Kotlin build scripts

Location: Berlin or Munich, Germany (hybrid work available)
