Data Analyst Payment (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Data Analyst for their payment operations team. In this role, you will ensure data-driven decisions are built on reliable and transparent foundations. You will bring clarity to complex contexts, measure business developments, and support the sustainable improvement of payment portfolio performance.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Developing, maintaining, and automating reports and dashboards for critical payment KPIs
• Analyzing and interpreting payment data throughout the entire transaction journey and deriving actionable recommendations
• Identifying trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities regarding conversion rates, costs, and payment performance
• Supporting pricing and calculation models within the acquiring environment with data-based decision foundations
• Collaborating closely with various departments and supporting them with well-founded analyses

What We're Looking For

Our client requires candidates with the following qualifications:

• Completed degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, or a comparable field
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or in a comparable analytical role
• Ideally, previous experience in payment, fintech, or e-commerce environments
• Strong SQL skills and experience with databases, data warehouses, and statistical analyses
• Proficiency with BI tools such as Power BI and modern AI tools for data analysis and preparation
• High self-motivation, analytical thinking, and structured working methods
• Fluent communication skills in both German and English

This position is based in Martinsried, Germany, with hybrid work arrangements (two days per week remote).
