The Opportunity
We're seeking a passionate Cybersecurity Detection and Response Analyst to join our London, UK, UK office. This role is crucial for protecting Jane Street’s employees, data, and infrastructure from online threats. You will not only respond to incidents but also develop the tools and systems we use to safeguard the firm.
Responsibilities
- Act as an incident responder, detection engineer, security engineer, SOC automation engineer, threat hunter, threat modeler, and security awareness engineer.
- Research and prioritize threats for monitoring, hunt for them in our data, write code to detect them, and continuously refine the detection process.
- Maintain full control over the alerts we respond to and own all stages of the detection and response lifecycle.
- Work on engineering projects such as building SOAR systems, email content scanning, alerting stacks, and more.
Qualifications
- Experience in cybersecurity with a focus on detection and response.
- Proficiency in programming languages relevant to cybersecurity (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
- A strong understanding of security tools and systems.
- Ability to write code for threat detection and automation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
