Building Engineer

Stream Realty is seeking a Building Engineer to join our team in Longwood, FL, where you'll manage and maintain critical building systems that keep our properties operating smoothly and safely.

About the Role

As a Building Engineer with Stream Realty, you'll play a central role in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of commercial or residential properties in the Longwood area. This full-time position offers the opportunity to develop expertise across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems while ensuring tenant satisfaction, code compliance, and operational efficiency. You'll be the go-to professional for building systems troubleshooting, preventive maintenance scheduling, and emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, and maintain building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce downtime
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs from tenants and management
• Diagnose system failures and implement cost-effective repairs or coordinate with licensed contractors
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work logs, and equipment documentation
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and property management standards
• Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs
• Conduct safety inspections and address potential hazards proactively

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Building Engineer, facilities technician, or similar role
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Physical ability to perform climbing, lifting, and work in varied environmental conditions
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Preferred: EPA certification, HVAC licensing, or trade certifications
