Brokerage Agent, Imports

Expeditors is hiring a Brokerage Agent, Imports for their Laredo, TX office to manage customs brokerage and customer service operations in one of North America's busiest trade corridors. This is a full-time, in-office position supporting the movement of goods across borders and into the United States.

The Opportunity

Laredo sits at a critical nexus of North American trade, and this role puts you at the center of that action. As a Brokerage Agent, Imports, you'll manage the documentation and clearance of imported shipments while ensuring regulatory compliance. This is hands-on work with real urgency—helping customers navigate customs requirements, solving supply chain challenges, and building relationships with shippers, carriers, and government agencies. You'll see direct impact on business operations and develop deep expertise in trade regulations and import logistics.

Core Duties

• Prepare and file customs entry documentation for imported goods
• Communicate with clients to gather shipping details and resolve questions
• Coordinate with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and other regulatory agencies
• Track shipments through the customs clearance and entry process
• Answer customer questions regarding tariffs, compliance, and import procedures
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with customs regulations
• Process duties and fees on behalf of clients
• Identify compliance risks and escalate issues appropriately
