Our talent team is representing a confidential insurance organization seeking an Associate Counsel for a remote position based in Texas. This role focuses on defending lawsuits in Texas courts and handling first-party insurance defense matters. Responsibilities

• Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
• Render opinions on liability, damages, and case valuation as requested by claims teams
• Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery
• Conduct and defend depositions, examinations before trial, and examinations under oath
• Defend matters through trial or dispositive hearings as applicable
• Document case files in a clear, concise, professional manner
• Travel as required for trials, hearings, depositions, and meetings

What We're Looking For

• Required: Juris Doctor degree
• Required: Admission to the Texas Bar in good standing
• Required: 2-6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense, personal injury, or related fields
• Ability to meet and maintain licensing requirements, including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE)
• Strong written communication skills for professional correspondence with clients and colleagues
• Ability to follow complex instructions and resolve conflicts
• Excellent organization, priority-setting, and multi-tasking abilities
• Capacity to learn and apply technical and procedural information
• Preferred: Civil litigation experience and insurance defense-related litigation background
• Professional communication skills in person, via telephone, and in writing

Location: Remote (must be within commutable distance to a Texas office location)
