Applied Scientist (Internship)

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential AI research organization based in Paris. We are seeking Applied Scientist Interns to join their team for a minimum 6-month engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge machine learning systems at scale, collaborating with research and engineering teams on high-impact projects across multiple domains.

Candidates must have valid work authorization for France or the UK for the full duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Run pre-training, post-training, and deployment of state-of-the-art models on large GPU clusters
• Generate and curate training data, develop evaluation frameworks, and ensure model performance meets project requirements
• Build tools and frameworks to support data generation, model training, evaluation, and deployment workflows
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex use cases involving agents and retrieval systems
• Manage research initiatives and communicate with client research teams

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Fluent English with excellent communication skills; able to explain complex technical concepts to varied audiences
• Expert-level proficiency with PyTorch or JAX
• Comfortable navigating large codebases independently with minimal guidance
• Strong Python programming skills: clean, readable, high-performance, fault-tolerant code
• Self-directed approach; able to move forward independently and navigate ambiguity
• Collaborative, low-ego mindset with eagerness to learn
• Demonstrated success through personal projects, professional work, or academic research
• Available for at least 6 months

Preferred:

• Pursuing or completing a PhD or Master's in Mathematics, Physics, Machine Learning, or related field
• Research experience in agents, multimodal models, world models, robotics, diffusion models, cybersecurity, 3D understanding/generation, or time-series analysis
• Contributions to large open-source or industry codebases
• Publications in top-tier academic journals or conferences
• Interest in code quality improvements: typing, testing, CI pipelines
