About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential technology consultancy seeking an Application Architect to join their team remotely in the United States. Our client specializes in cloud transformation and enterprise-scale solutions. This role offers the opportunity to lead technical architecture discussions with enterprise clients and shape modern cloud-native applications.
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical leader working directly with customer business, development, and infrastructure teams
- Lead architecture and design discussions with IT executives to accelerate enterprise technology adoption
- Design and build highly scalable, cloud-native applications on AWS using services including API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, and ECS
- Guide migration of monolithic applications to microservices architectures
- Leverage modern technology paradigms including serverless, containers, and microservices
- Provide guidance on AWS best practices and implementation strategies
- Influence infrastructure architecture decisions through application development expertise
- Represent developer perspectives internally and contribute to service offerings and product strategy
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of large-scale software development or application engineering experience with recent hands-on coding
- Proficiency in two or more languages: Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Node.js,.NET, or Python
- Minimum 3 years in an application architect role
- Experience in customer-facing technical specialist positions
- Demonstrated cloud experience with architecting, designing, and developing applications on AWS
- Expertise designing and building applications using container and serverless technologies
- Track record architecting highly available systems utilizing load balancing, horizontal scalability, and high availability patterns
- Cloud certifications strongly preferred
- Strong exposure to Agile software development and DevOps practices including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration, and automated deployment
- Practical application development experience on both Linux and Windows-based systems
- Experience collaborating with customers, partners, or third-party developers
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
