Head Waiter/ Waitress – Soho Farmhouse (Pen Yen)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential hospitality client in the Chipping Norton area who is seeking an experienced Head Waiter/Waitress to lead dining service operations. In this role, you will oversee the restaurant floor, ensuring every guest receives exceptional service from arrival through to payment.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Warmly greeting guests, presenting menus, and ensuring immediate engagement upon seating
• Taking accurate food and drink orders while accommodating allergies and dietary requirements
• Coordinating with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and correct order delivery
• Providing knowledgeable recommendations on menu items and food-drink pairings
• Maintaining exceptional table service, proactively refilling water, wine, and beverages throughout the guest experience
• Setting up and resetting tables while maintaining pristine dining room standards
• Handling guest requests and special accommodations with flexibility to create memorable, personalized experiences
• Processing payments efficiently through various systems
• Upholding discretion and professionalism when serving VIP guests
• Leading and supervising the waitstaff team during daily service
• Providing training, coaching, and consistent feedback to support and motivate team members

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

• 2–3 years of experience in a high-end dining environment, with previous supervisory or senior waiter experience
• Excellent food and beverage knowledge, including wine service expertise
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a hands-on approach to floor management
• Confident, polished, and professional demeanor in all guest interactions
• Exceptional communication and organizational abilities
• Familiarity with POS systems and reservation software
