EDI Developer/ Technical Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential automotive technology organization seeking an experienced EDI Technical Lead for a contract engagement based in Eschborn, Germany. This remote-friendly role offers the opportunity to work on complex B2B integration projects with occasional travel to Stuttgart for client collaboration.

Our client operates in a high-volume EDI environment supporting critical supplier and customer integrations. You'll lead technical implementation using Axway TSIM while partnering with cross-functional teams across Europe.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and implement EDI integration solutions using Axway TSIM platform
• Develop, support, and optimize EDI mappings and interfaces for seamless data exchange
• Monitor EDI message flows and resolve production issues promptly
• Configure and support trading partner onboarding and communication setups
• Perform incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis
• Prepare technical specifications, mapping documents, and solution designs
• Conduct testing, partner certification, go-live activities, and ongoing production support
• Lead or participate in EDI and integration projects from planning through delivery
• Collaborate with business teams, customers, suppliers, and external partners throughout project lifecycle

What We're Looking For

Required Experience and Skills:

• 5-10 years of hands-on experience in EDI/B2B integration and support
• Proven expertise with Axway TSIM platform
• Strong working knowledge of SAP PO and SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration)
• Deep understanding of EDIFACT, ANSI X12, VDA, and Odette standards
• Experience with automotive EDI messages including DELFOR, DELJIT, DESADV, INVOIC, and ORDERS
• Proficiency with EDI mapping technologies and data formats: XML, XSLT, IDOC, JSON, CSV
• Working knowledge of communication protocols: AS2, OFTP2, SFTP, HTTPS, SOAP, and REST APIs
• Solid understanding of SAP business processes (MM, SD, Logistics, Finance) and ERP integrations
• Strong troubleshooting, monitoring, and incident management capabilities
• Business fluent German language skills (negotiation level)
• Automotive industry experience with supplier integration knowledge
• Experience delivering international IT projects
• Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field

Contract Details:

• 12-month initial contract with strong possibility of extension
• Remote work arrangement with occasional travel to Stuttgart
