Adolescent/Child Safeguarding & Exploitation Specialist

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential technology organization seeking licensed safeguarding professionals to contribute specialized expertise to an AI training project. This fully remote contract role centers on evaluating adolescent safety scenarios and producing expert-level risk assessments that will inform next-generation systems. No prior AI experience is necessary—your clinical and safeguarding knowledge is the foundation we need.

Responsibilities

• Review complex adolescent case materials to assess sexual safety and exploitation risks
• Produce clear, defensible written safeguarding guidance appropriate for non-specialist audiences
• Apply recognized risk-assessment and safeguarding frameworks to determine urgency and recommend interventions
• Identify indicators of grooming, coercion, and exploitation within nuanced case details
• Recommend protective actions and escalation pathways, including guidance on mandatory reporting requirements
• Apply trauma-informed approaches that account for developmental stage, capacity, and consent factors
• Benchmark clinical judgments against peer standards and established protocols to ensure accuracy

What We're Looking For

• 3–5+ years post-qualification experience in child safeguarding, adolescent protection, or related clinical practice
• Specialty background in child protection, forensic child/adolescent psychiatry or psychology, or pediatric medicine with safeguarding responsibilities
• Active clinical license or registration in good standing
• Current or recent (within two years) adolescent caseload or active safeguarding practice
• Demonstrated expertise in child sexual exploitation and abuse risk assessment
• Strong trauma-informed practice skills and rigorous documentation abilities
• Exceptional written communication in research-grade English (native fluency or IELTS 7.5+/writing 7.0+, TOEFL 100+, Cambridge C1–C2, or equivalent)
• Experience in designated safeguarding roles or expert-witness capacity is a plus
• Familiarity with ACEs and trauma frameworks is valued
