Frontend Software Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a fast-growing social impact technology organization that is establishing a new engineering hub in London. Our client is seeking Frontend Software Engineers to join this foundational team.

In this role, you will:

• Build and evolve frontend applications and user-facing infrastructure to support rapid organizational growth
• Develop new features for customer-facing and internal systems to improve usability and operational efficiency
• Implement responsive, reliable, and intuitive visual elements and interactive workflows across web applications
• Actively participate in agile development processes with a continuous improvement mindset
• Deliver high-quality products with maximum performance, maintainability, and accessibility
• Take on additional tasks outside your current boundaries with team support to continue growing your skills

You will work with a modern tech stack including React, TypeScript, RTK Query, MUI, and react-router in a single-page application environment. The development workflow includes Vite or Webpack DevServer with hot module replacement.

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks candidates with:

• Strong experience in modern frontend web development
• Proven production experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, DOM manipulation, HTML, and CSS/MUI
• Deep understanding of React.js, its core principles (state, props, context, hooks), and modern architectural patterns
• Experience with state management solutions such as Redux/RTK Query or React Context API, plus client-side routing
• Experience with common frontend tooling, testing, and CI frameworks (Vite/Webpack, NPM, ESLint, Jest, Playwright)
• Proven success building scalable, responsive interfaces with strong cross-browser compatibility and UX design sensibilities
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, modern integration patterns, and Git version control
• Enjoyment of cross-functional team collaboration and pride in writing clean, high-quality code

This is a hybrid position in London with two days per week in office. You will be part of a newly established engineering hub, offering the unique opportunity to help shape team culture and technical direction from the ground up.
