Accounting Manager (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a growing organization in the ambulatory healthcare sector based in Berlin. This role oversees accounting operations for multiple entities within the organization and ensures the smooth execution of day-to-day bookkeeping.

You will be responsible for:

• Managing accounting operations for multiple legal entities and maintaining accurate financial records
• Preparing monthly closings and VAT returns, and collaborating with external tax advisors on annual financial statements
• Overseeing accounts receivable management and collections
• Leading a two-person accounting team and developing team collaboration and task distribution
• Continuously improving accounting processes through digitalization and automation to create more efficient, reliable workflows
• Developing finance tools, digital workflows, and system integrations to support organizational growth
• Working closely with senior leadership and serving as the primary point of contact for tax advisors and internal stakeholders

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks an experienced accounting professional who combines strong technical expertise with a forward-thinking approach to process optimization.

Required qualifications:

• Several years of relevant professional experience in accounting
• Strong expertise in monthly closings, account reconciliations, VAT, and preparation of annual financial statements
• Certified accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter/in), tax specialist (Steuerfachwirt/in), or comparable qualification preferred
• Proficiency with DATEV; experience with DATEV Unternehmen online is advantageous
• Interest in digitalization and automation with a mindset for continuous improvement
• Excellent German language skills, both written and spoken
• Leadership experience is beneficial but not mandatory; willingness to take responsibility for a team is essential
