Technical Outsource Manager (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology consultancy seeking a Technical Outsource Manager to bridge client relationships and remote engineering teams. In this role, you will serve as the primary technical liaison, managing nearshoring projects and building long-term partnerships.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Acting as the main point of contact between clients and remote development teams in Bulgaria
• Managing client relationships across multiple levels—from technical specialists to project managers and department leads
• Attending on-site meetings with clients regularly and coordinating requirements (functional and technical)
• Monitoring project quality, delivery timelines, and budgets; identifying and addressing deviations
• Providing technical consulting within your domain of expertise
• Collaborating on long-term outsourcing product roadmaps with relevant stakeholders
• Managing escalations between the remote team and clients, ensuring bidirectional communication
• Preparing engineering budgets and proposals
• Identifying new leads and initiating follow-on project sales
• Coordinating priorities, scope, and dependencies across software teams
• Bridging gaps created by nearshoring arrangements and developing structural solutions

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation combined with client-facing expertise:

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a software development environment (e.g., as software architect or software engineer)
• Minimum 3 years of project management experience
• Deep hands-on experience in software design and development
• Experience leading SCRUM-based projects
• Strong conceptual thinking—able to analyze impact, create high-level designs, and break down planned features
• Excellent communication skills across functions and organizational levels
• Strong negotiation abilities and proactive conflict management skills
• Quick learner capable of engaging with both clients and technical teams at eye level
• German language proficiency at C1 level; English at B2 level
• Self-motivated with a passion for delivering results
• Willingness to work frequently on-site with clients and travel regularly to Bulgaria

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with SAFe methodology
• Prior outsourcing management experience
• Background in high-tech embedded environments
