Senior Software Engineer, Live

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential streaming technology company in Manchester that is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Live to join their product development team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced embedded systems engineer who wants to work on features that directly impact millions of users worldwide.

Our client operates in a fast-paced environment where engineers take ownership of complex problems and collaborate across product, design, and platform teams to deliver innovative solutions. You'll be developing core UI features, implementing sophisticated algorithms, and working on embedded software that powers consumer electronics at scale.

Responsibilities

• Develop core features for streaming platform applications and operating systems
• Work closely with Product Development, UI/UX design, Platform Services, and Release Management teams to contribute to application development
• Implement embedded UI development and algorithm implementation for complex features to enhance user experience
• Integrate third-party code and modern C++ libraries/frameworks
• Develop tools to support the broader development community
• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve technical issues
• Collaborate with international teams to extend features for global market needs

What We're Looking For

• Strong embedded C++ experience – this is essential
• Strong experience in TypeScript
• Experience developing UI applications using popular frameworks
• Experience writing functional integration and unit tests
• Good understanding of Core OS concepts including memory management and multi-threading
• Good understanding of API design, considerations, and trade-offs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-team collaboration
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields
• Consumer electronics experience building media/content and/or advertising products is beneficial
• Experience working in streaming is a plus
• Familiarity with AI-powered development tools (such as coding assistants, agent frameworks, or automation tools) and the ability to describe projects where you've used these tools to ship production work is valued

Work Arrangement: This role follows a hybrid schedule with in-office work Monday through Thursday in Manchester, with flexible remote work on Fridays.
