Responsibilities
Our client, a leading streaming-platform organization, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their live-content engineering team in Cambridge. In this role, you will:
- Develop core features for embedded UI applications and operating-system components that reach millions of users daily
- Collaborate closely with product development, UI/UX design, platform services, and release management teams to deliver high-quality application features
- Implement algorithms and underlying architecture for complex, user-intuitive features
- Integrate third-party code and develop tools to support the broader engineering community
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve issues across the embedded software stack
- Work with product management to understand new feature requirements and adapt existing features for international market needs
What We're Looking For
We are representing a confidential streaming-technology client who values independent, motivated engineers who thrive in collaborative environments. The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong experience in TypeScript (required)
- Experience developing UI applications using popular frameworks
- Proven track record writing functional integration and unit tests
- Strong understanding of core OS concepts including memory management and multi-threading
- Solid grasp of API design, considerations, and trade-offs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-team collaboration
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Nice to have: Basic knowledge of C++
- Nice to have: Embedded software experience
- Beneficial: Consumer electronics experience building media/content and/or advertising products
- Beneficial: Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (coding assistants, agent frameworks, MCP servers)
