About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential IoT solutions provider in Berlin, Germany, seeking a working student (Werkstudent) to join their development team. This position offers students in computer science or related fields the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Machine-to-Machine communication and embedded systems while continuing their studies.
As a working student with our client, you'll be fully integrated into development workflows, working alongside experienced engineers on real customer projects. This role provides excellent exposure to professional software development practices, modern tooling, and the IoT industry.
Responsibilities
- Support development of applications in the M2M/IoT environment using Java or C/C++ on embedded Linux systems, Java for backend development, or JavaScript for frontend development
- Participate in team-based software development using tools such as GitLab, Maven, Node, JIRA, and Confluence
- Assist with ongoing customer projects and implementation tasks
- Attend training sessions and pursue independent learning to develop technical skills
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled full-time in computer science or a related degree program (not on semester break/leave)
- Prior experience in software development
- Enthusiasm for new technologies and continuous learning
- Enjoys problem-solving through technology and hands-on technical work
- Reliable, detail-oriented work style
- Strong team collaboration skills and willingness to share knowledge
- Ability to work maximum 20 hours per week during lecture periods (more hours possible during semester breaks)
- German language skills required for this Berlin-based position
