Air Freight Pricing Manager (m/f/d)

We are representing a confidential international logistics organization seeking an Air Freight Pricing Manager to join their Hamburg office. This role sits at the intersection of pricing strategy, market analysis, and global collaboration—perfect for an experienced air freight professional who thrives on building competitive quotes and managing complex tenders.

You'll serve as the central pricing authority for air freight projects, working closely with a global network of offices to deliver accurate, competitive solutions for both heavy/oversized cargo and general freight movements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and calculate air freight quotes and customized pricing solutions for international logistics projects, including heavy, out-of-gauge, and general cargo
• Act as the primary point of contact for tenders involving air freight scope, ensuring completeness and competitiveness
• Develop and maintain buy and sell rate structures with transparent, traceable calculations
• Monitor market trends, capacity shifts, and pricing dynamics across key trade lanes
• Negotiate terms and conditions with airlines, general sales agents, and service providers
• Handle ad-hoc pricing inquiries for air freight export and import
• Support the sales team in developing customer-specific pricing strategies
• Coordinate with global offices to obtain local air freight costs for multi-leg projects
• Conduct price analysis and provide pricing guidance across the network
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with airlines and air freight handling partners
• Hand over secured shipments to operations teams for execution
• Contribute to revenue optimization strategies for specific trade lanes and products

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional experience in air freight, freight forwarding, pricing, or tender management
• Completed vocational training as a Freight Forwarding and Logistics Services Specialist, Bachelor's degree in Logistics, or similar qualification
• Solid knowledge of the international air freight market and airline rate structures
• Proven experience working with airline rates and freight calculations
• Strong communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
• Structured, independent, and solution-focused working style
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel for complex pricing models
• Very good written and spoken English skills for international coordination
• Responsible, reliable, and motivated personality with a can-do attitude
