About This Opportunity

We are representing a growing industrial manufacturer in Hamburg that is seeking an experienced production leader to oversee injection molding operations. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will guide a team of approximately 20 professionals, drive operational excellence, and implement continuous improvement initiatives in plastics manufacturing.

Reports to: Production Management

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and disciplinary leadership for a team of around 20 employees in injection molding operations
• Oversee injection molding production including PU foaming processes and tooling maintenance
• Ensure output targets, quality standards, delivery reliability, and cost efficiency in daily production
• Manage day-to-day operations through shopfloor management and SQDG performance metrics
• Initiate and execute Lean manufacturing projects to improve processes and increase efficiency
• Optimize production workflows, capacity utilization, and workforce scheduling
• Support new tooling projects from specification through sampling and qualification
• Analyze and maintain relevant KPIs within the Arburg control system
• Coordinate production orders and completion reporting in the ERP system

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in plastics engineering, production engineering, or related technical field
• OR technical apprenticeship as a process mechanic for plastics and rubber technology, plastics molder, toolmaker, or similar – ideally with additional qualification as Techniker or Meister
• Proven experience in a leadership role such as team leader injection molding, shift supervisor plastics technology, or production manager injection molding
• Strong knowledge of plastics processing, injection molding, and industrial manufacturing processes
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams
• Expertise in Lean Management, shopfloor management, and KPI-based production control
• Experience with Arburg injection molding machines and Wittmann handling systems is highly valued
• Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems, preferably SAP
• Structured, independent working style with strong quality awareness
• Fluency in German required for team leadership and documentation
