Signal Technician

About This Position

Wabtec is seeking a skilled Signal Technician to join our Perth-based team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of railway signalling equipment and systems. You'll work with modern signalling technology and be part of a team committed to ensuring reliable, safe rail operations across Western Australia.

Core Duties

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair railway signalling equipment and control systems
• Test signalling apparatus to identify faults and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on signalling infrastructure
• Troubleshoot signalling system failures and implement corrective actions
• Maintain detailed technical documentation and maintenance records
• Work safely at height and in confined spaces when required
• Collaborate with rail operators and engineering teams to support network operations

What We're Looking For

• Trade qualification in electrical or rail technology (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience working with railway signalling systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
• Current driver licence (Australian)
• Valid Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one
• Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
