Technical Product Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential EdTech organization seeking a Technical Product Manager to own their content platform and infrastructure layer. This is a foundational role where you will shape the architecture that every product surface depends on for the next several years.

The role sits at the intersection of content services, platform engineering, and enterprise infrastructure. You will inherit genuine ambiguity and unfinished decisions—we're being transparent about that. The upside is that very little is set, so you will define how content is stored, versioned, served, and secured across a multi-tenant platform serving customers across Europe.

Responsibilities

• Own the content services and APIs that power learner-facing surfaces, admin tools, and future products, including CDN, video delivery, and asset storage
• Define and maintain the structural contract for how content is stored, versioned, and served so it can be reused and assembled differently for different customers
• Own the multi-tenant separation model, ensuring customer content and branding remain isolated and secure
• Manage access control, entitlements, and data residency requirements to support contractual commitments
• Optimize platform performance and cost per tenant, recognizing that inefficiencies at this layer cascade everywhere
• Lead the platform side of an in-flight migration from a legacy content tool while maintaining revenue-generating operations
• Address non-functional requirements that surface in enterprise deals, particularly security and compliance reviews that impact revenue velocity
• Make sequencing decisions for platform modernization while the system continues to serve production traffic

What We're Looking For

Must have:

• Experience with content management as a product—CMS, DAM, headless content platforms, or structured content systems at scale
• Track record owning platform or infrastructure-adjacent products where success was measured by what other teams could build
• Technical depth to read architecture proposals, ask clarifying questions, and distinguish researched answers from fluent ones
• Ability to hold your own with senior engineers, infrastructure specialists, and security teams—challenge estimates and designs without needing to be an implementation peer
• Systems thinking focused on seams, contracts, and keeping decisions reversible
• Strong sequencing skills for modernizing live platforms where order matters more than ambition
• Clear writing ability to document decisions, tradeoffs, and reasoning for both engineers and executives

Nice to have:

• Previous career as an engineer
• Depth in AI and personalization or infrastructure engineering

This role is not for you if:

• You want to coordinate engineers rather than provide them with decisions and clarity
• You expect all surrounding decisions to be settled before you arrive
• You want to own authoring and editorial tooling (a colleague owns that surface)
• You want to run a rewrite program disconnected from customer outcomes
