Practice Director, Digital & AI

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential managed services and technology consulting organization in their search for a Practice Director, Digital & AI. This is a remote opportunity based in the UK.

In this role, you will lead and expand the UK Data & AI practice, working closely with sales and consulting leaders to shape strategic opportunities from initial engagement through contract close. You will partner with senior business and IT stakeholders to build transformation roadmaps that align to business objectives while balancing innovation in AI and GenAI with strong data foundations and governance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Actively lead Data & AI solution design for complex client opportunities, participating directly in client presentations, workshops, and executive discussions
• Serve in active delivery roles such as Data Architect, Engagement Lead, or Delivery Sponsor on key Data & AI engagements, remaining hands-on during execution
• Guide teams through critical design decisions, delivery challenges, and client escalations, ensuring solutions are delivered to scope, quality, timeline, and commercial commitments
• Drive growth and financial performance of the UK Data & AI practice, balancing billable client contribution with practice leadership responsibilities
• Operate as a senior leader within the global Data & AI practice, aligning UK solutioning and delivery approaches with global standards while remaining responsive to local client needs
• Maintain deep, current hands-on expertise across modern data platforms and architectures, advanced analytics, AI/ML, GenAI, MLOps, model governance, and responsible AI
• Mentor Data & AI practitioners and develop repeatable delivery patterns and accelerators informed by real-world delivery experience

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 12+ years' experience delivering data, analytics, and AI solutions
• Demonstrable ability to design and deliver complex, enterprise-scale Data & AI solutions
• Proven experience supporting pre-sales and deal shaping, including client-facing solution leadership
• Experience balancing hands-on delivery contribution with practice or portfolio leadership
• Executive-level communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes
• Deep practical experience with modern data platforms & architectures, AI/ML & GenAI delivery in production environments, and public cloud ecosystems
