Senior Data Scientist, Forecasting & Elasticity (m/f/x)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing e-commerce client in Berlin that operates at the intersection of technology and sustainability. They are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to take ownership of forecasting and pricing models that directly influence commercial strategy across the organization.

This is a high-impact role where your work will ship to production and drive measurable business outcomes. You will own the full model lifecycle—from research and feature engineering through deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement—working closely with senior leadership to translate analytical insights into strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end forecasting and price-elasticity models that power the client's pricing engine, from initial research through deployment and ongoing monitoring
• Scale forecasting architecture to support increasingly granular, product-level predictions as the business grows
• Design, execute, and analyze pricing experiments and A/B tests, delivering clear strategic recommendations to leadership
• Conduct deep-dive analyses of pricing elasticity, customer behavior, market dynamics, and competitive positioning to generate commercial insights
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Commercial, Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to identify opportunities and solve complex business challenges
• Establish best practices for analytics, experimentation, commercial decision-making, and AI tooling while automating reporting to maintain visibility

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in Data Science roles, ideally within e-commerce or marketplace environments, with a track record of solving real business problems
• Quantitative degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field
• Strong foundations in statistics, predictive modeling, and machine learning with hands-on proficiency in Python and SQL
• Practical experience with time series forecasting including modeling, feature engineering, and evaluation
• Demonstrated experience designing and running A/B tests and experiments with measurable business impact
• Proactive, self-starting mindset with the ability to own a domain end-to-end
• Strong stakeholder management skills and comfort presenting to and influencing senior leadership
• Willingness to work on-site in Berlin at least 2 days per week (hybrid model)

Preferred qualifications:

• Daily use of AI tools to enhance productivity and push boundaries
• Knowledge of causal inference methods and advanced experimental design
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI
• Experience in sustainability-focused or circular economy businesses
