This is a remote-first opportunity where you'll drive a critical architectural transition while working with cutting-edge distributed systems at global scale.
You'll be joining a team that powers seamless transportation booking experiences used by millions of travelers worldwide, working with high-throughput systems that demand exceptional performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic architectural transition of the core Search Engine from Elixir to Go as the pioneer Go engineer on the team
- Design foundational infrastructure for high-throughput microservices ensuring smooth interoperability between new Go architecture and legacy systems
- Own the technical backlog and success metrics while coordinating cross-functional work aligned with long-term business objectives
- Resolve technical bottlenecks and guide teams to build solutions that maximize business value and justify migration decisions
- Drive company-wide technology adoption and agile engineering processes while maintaining highly effective documentation
- Systematically elevate team technical capabilities by upskilling peers in Go best practices
- Translate complex technical decisions into business metrics to identify and resolve growth hurdles
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in Golang
- Knowledge of Ruby or Python to effectively navigate legacy ecosystem and drive transition
- Deep architectural mastery of high-throughput distributed systems, microservices, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, and GCP
- Proven ability to seamlessly translate technical decisions into business metrics
- Excellence in cross-functional leadership, synchronizing technologies and ensuring transparency between developers, partners, and stakeholders
- Champion of agile mindset, test-driven development, and robust CI/CD pipelines
- Passion for continuous self-development and actively mentoring others
- Fluency in English, both verbally and in writing
