Senior Waveform Architect (All Genders)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential defense technology organization in Berlin that is building next-generation autonomous platforms for highly contested operational environments. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Waveform Architect to lead the design and implementation of tactical anti-jam radio systems. This is a hands-on technical leadership role with direct impact on mission-critical communications infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the complete design and implementation of the physical layer (PHY) including waveform architecture, modulation schemes, coding, framing, and synchronisation from concept through real-time execution
• Engineer robust solutions specifically for severe jamming scenarios and complex multi-node long-range link budgets
• Own PHY-side specifications and expose critical IQ, phase, and timing observables required for Direction Finding capabilities
• Define development standards for the technology strand including HDL and verification conventions as well as FPGA build flows
• Maintain the highest level of technical authority for communications systems within a lean, systems-focused engineering team

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Proven track record successfully designing a PHY layer and deploying it on FPGA/SoC hardware in real-time production environments
• Deep quantitative expertise in synchronisation, estimation, Forward Error Correction (FEC), and link budget analysis
• Hands-on experience debugging real radio links against physical hardware
• Ability to operate as a visionary technical leader who can define long-term roadmaps while remaining deeply engaged with complex engineering challenges

Preferred:

• Experience with anti-jamming techniques and Low Probability of Intercept/Detection (LPI/LPD) in tactical contexts
• Professional background at recognized industry leaders in defense or communications technology
• Publicly verifiable PHY implementation work such as custom GNU Radio OOT modules or contributions to RFSoC toolchains
