(Senior) QA Engineer – AI-Driven Testing (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential clean-tech organization seeking a Senior QA Engineer to lead quality strategy for their mobile platform. In this role, you will own the testing architecture for Flutter applications and fundamentally transform how quality assurance operates across product teams.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Own the quality strategy and testing architecture for Flutter mobile apps, including test strategy, execution, and production monitoring from a platform perspective
• Partner with cross-functional mobile product teams to shape quality practices, identify testing gaps, and enable teams to ship confidently
• Build and maintain automated test suites using Appium and BrowserStack, keeping them fast, stable, and focused on critical user journeys
• Maintain test infrastructure health by minimizing flakiness, accelerating test runs, and delivering actionable results for engineering teams
• Design and scale autonomous exploration systems, intelligent test orchestration, and self-directed testing workflows that detect product risks before they reach users
• Create AI-driven QA systems that go beyond test generation to include autonomous exploration and smarter defect analysis
• Shift quality assurance left by designing quality into products and processes rather than treating it as a pre-release checklist

You will work with Flutter, Dart, Appium, BrowserStack, GCP, GitHub Actions, Datadog, and AI-assisted development tools. This is not a traditional "write test cases and file tickets" position—you will co-create systems that enable product teams to own quality end-to-end.

What We're Looking For

Our client needs someone who thinks about quality as a strategic function, not just a gatekeeper role. The ideal candidate brings:

• Extensive experience designing scalable testing strategies and hands-on expertise with mobile automation frameworks, specifically Appium and Flutter integration testing
• Practical experience with cloud device farms like BrowserStack
• Active experience leveraging AI tools, LLM workflows, and testing agents for autonomous exploration, automated test generation, and defect analysis
• Proven track record integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred) to deliver fast quality signals
• Strong focus on real-world user journeys, edge cases, and product risk rather than relying solely on code coverage metrics
• High initiative and problem-solving skills to invent solutions when no standard playbook exists
• Strong English communication skills to guide engineering practices and collaborate across teams
• Experience co-creating practices that enable product teams to own quality without sacrificing velocity

Bonus qualifications:

• German language skills
• Experience with energy systems, IoT, or climate tech
• Deep Flutter/Dart architecture knowledge or native iOS/Android expertise
• Experience building testing tools from scratch
• Track record navigating ambiguity in fast-growing organizations
