Senior Purchaser (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing mobility company with operations across 15 European countries. Our client manages a fleet of over 10,000 vehicles and approximately 100 locations, and they need a strategic procurement leader to professionalize their purchasing function while implementing a new SAP ERP system.

This is a hands-on leadership role based in Frankfurt, perfect for someone who wants to build rather than just manage. You'll lead the procurement team, design end-to-end purchasing processes in SAP, and establish an internal spare parts supply chain to support maintenance operations across their station network.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and coach the procurement team, creating a structure that enables autonomous working
• Serve as the primary procurement representative in the ongoing SAP implementation project, from requirements gathering through process design (Purchase-to-Pay), testing, data migration, and go-live
• Build and optimize the internal spare parts supply chain for stations across the network, including assortment planning, supplier selection, inventory management, minimum stock levels, distribution logic, and on-site maintenance team support
• Define and standardize procurement processes, policies, and approval workflows, then implement them in the new ERP system
• Manage supplier selection, evaluation, development, contract management, and negotiate terms and conditions
• Lead negotiations for strategically important categories and deliver measurable cost savings
• Collaborate closely with Finance, Fleet, Operations, Legal, and IT teams, representing procurement in cross-functional projects
• Drive AI and automation initiatives in procurement (such as workflow automation and AI-assisted analytics) to improve efficiency and reduce routine tasks
• Establish procurement KPIs and manage the function through data-driven insights including savings, supplier reliability, and process cycle times

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience in strategic or operational procurement, with demonstrated team leadership experience
• Fluent German and English language skills
• Practical experience with SAP (such as MM/Ariba) OR proven experience implementing an ERP system—ideally both
• Deep understanding of end-to-end procurement processes (Purchase-to-Pay) and ability to standardize and digitize them
• Experience building or operating a supply chain or spare parts/materials supply system (assortment, warehousing, inventory control, distribution) is a strong advantage
• Strong negotiation skills, relationship management capabilities, and commercial cost awareness
• Structured, analytical working style with confidence using data and KPIs
• Hands-on mentality and desire to actively build in a fast-growth environment rather than just administrate
• High affinity for AI and automation, with motivation to make procurement processes more efficient using modern tools

Pay

The salary band for this position is up to €65,000 gross annually.
