Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential healthcare research organization seeking a Senior Research Sonographer for a fixed-term clinical study position in Birmingham. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful clinical research while working three days per week in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

You'll be performing specialized ultrasound examinations as part of an important clinical study, working alongside research teams to deliver high-quality diagnostic assessments that advance our understanding of preventative healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations focused on breast ultrasound in accordance with clinical guidelines and best practices
• Complete study-specific acquisition and interpretation qualification tasks with certification filed appropriately
• Independently interpret and report ultrasound findings, ensuring timely delivery of results uploaded to standardized electronic case report forms
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams to support clinical trial objectives
• Maintain strict adherence to study acquisition standard operating procedures
• Conduct equipment quality assurance maintenance with proper logging and documentation
• Liaise directly with the principal investigator and research team as needed

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

• HCPC-registered diagnostic radiographer (or other HCPC/NMC-registered healthcare professional)
• CASE-accredited postgraduate qualification in breast ultrasound (PgCert, PgDip, MSc, or named CASE-accredited breast ultrasound module)
• Documented, current breast ultrasound practice with minimum two years full-time-equivalent breast scanning experience
• Advanced radiographic experience reporting autonomously within the NHS Breast Screening Programme or equivalent quality-assurance framework
• Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex information clearly to study participants
• Commitment to maintaining high clinical standards and ongoing professional development

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous ultrasound scanning experience as part of clinical trials
• Experience with shear-wave elastography acquisition and reporting
• Familiarity with Philips ultrasound machines and decision support software
• Experience with data entry for clinical research studies
