We are representing a confidential technology organization in Germany that specializes in enterprise IoT infrastructure. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their development team, where you'll work on massively-scalable distributed systems that connect industrial devices and enable intelligent operations for global enterprise clients.

This role offers the opportunity to architect and build software that powers critical infrastructure at scale, working with modern tooling and agile principles in a culture that values automation and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain platform software for massively-scalable global IoT deployments
• Create self-healing software systems using state-of-the-art tools and frameworks
• Develop and implement concurrent, maintainable, and performant algorithms
• Build, maintain, and refactor existing codebases, extend APIs, and improve test coverage
• Address security vulnerabilities and identify performance bottlenecks using profilers, benchmarking, and analysis tools
• Leverage AI development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality standards
• Solve edge cases and identify common patterns to build robust solutions

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on backend development
• Strong expertise architecting, developing, and delivering modern applications running on the JVM
• Experience writing reliable and scalable software for business-critical applications
• Proficiency with Git, testing methodologies, and CI/CD tools
• Experience designing high-throughput, data-intensive applications
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and resilient inter-service communication patterns
• Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases, Kafka, Kubernetes, and ArgoCD
• Strong debugging skills to identify and implement forward-looking solutions
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
• High sense of ownership and pride in work quality
