Senior Manager, Power Strategy

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential data center organization seeking a Senior Manager, Power Strategy. This role is responsible for developing and managing programs related to transmission, distribution, and energy supply across a growing portfolio of facilities. You will work at the intersection of infrastructure development, energy markets, and sustainability strategy.

Responsibilities

• Identify power availability opportunities for future site development and expansion
• Support contract activities for substation construction and transmission extensions, tracking progress with utilities to optimize delivery timelines
• Lead contract review and negotiations for transmission, distribution, and energy supply agreements
• Assist with energy origination and procurement activities in deregulated markets
• Collaborate with internal and external teams on energy rate forecasting and supply contract performance analysis
• Analyze customer growth patterns by region to develop data-driven origination and procurement strategies
• Perform tariff reviews and analysis in regulated markets; assist with energy hedging activities
• Track and manage renewable energy credits, carbon management initiatives, and customer correspondence regarding renewable energy attributes
• Support origination and negotiation of renewable energy opportunities across regulated and deregulated markets
• Conduct power situation analysis for prospective sites, including utility capacity, tariffs, and geography assessments
• Provide cross-functional support to sales, construction, operations, and customer teams on energy and sustainability initiatives
• Review tariffs and develop commissioning strategies to mitigate utility ratchet impacts
• Resolve utility billing issues and manage capital budget tracking

What We're Looking For

• 6-8 years of experience with transmission, distribution, and energy supply origination or procurement
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a technical discipline
• Demonstrated experience with tariff analysis and utility contract reviews
• Background working with renewable and carbon-free power initiatives
• Experience with utility negotiations, processes, and agreements
• Strong understanding of the transmission and distribution grid with the ability to analyze supply capacity
• Financial or energy engineering experience
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects while collaborating with internal staff, utility providers, consultants, and external stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey commercial, regulatory, market, and contractual details to all organizational levels
