About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential hospitality client launching a landmark meetings and events venue in London's West End, scheduled to open in Spring 2027. This 54,000-square-foot destination will set a new standard for corporate conferences, brand activations, and bespoke gatherings through cutting-edge production technology and exceptional service delivery.
As part of the opening team for this highly anticipated venue at One Rathbone Square, you'll shape the culture and guest experience from day one. We're seeking a Senior Conference & Events Manager who excels at both strategic oversight and operational detail—someone who can lead high-stakes live events while ensuring every behind-the-scenes element runs flawlessly.
Responsibilities
- Own overall responsibility for events operations, managing both the events operations team and conference services team across all aspects of delivery
- Oversee external cleaning contracts with monthly reviews and maintain consistent quality monitoring
- Drive forward yearly, monthly, and unplanned maintenance requirements to keep the venue in pristine condition
- Ensure all departments maintain the highest standards of delivery and customer service
- Continuously monitor and improve front-of-house operations systems
- Manage health and safety compliance across the venue
- Oversee staff scheduling and ensure effective communication between all front-of-house departments
- Deliver exceptional customer service across all events, consistently seeking and acting on client feedback
- Manage complaints professionally and implement action plans for continuous improvement
- Target 90% satisfaction in customer feedback and 9-10 Net Promoter scores
- Control purchasing, inventory, and invoicing systems
- Manage labour allocation to ensure optimal staffing levels
- Maintain stock control systems with effective rotation and monthly counts
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of leadership experience in event venue management, hospitality, or related client-facing environments
- Proven ability to manage conference services and client service departments and teams
- Strong commercial and financial management capabilities, with experience contributing to venue profitability
- Exceptional client management skills with a track record of building lasting relationships
- Detail-oriented approach combined with strategic "big picture" thinking
- Ability to inspire and develop diverse teams while maintaining operational excellence
- Experience turning positive feedback into repeat business and long-term partnerships
- Professional complaint resolution skills and a solutions-focused mindset
