Director, Business Development – Financial Services

Our talent team is representing a confidential global language services and technology organization seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to join their London office. This role focuses exclusively on the Financial Services sector, leveraging your established network and expertise to drive new business growth.

We're looking for a proven sales professional with deep Financial Services connections who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You'll work with international brands and organizations, helping them navigate complex communication and globalization challenges through technology-enabled language solutions.

Responsibilities

• Source and close new clients within Financial Services through referrals, cold calling, networking, trade shows, and industry events
• Build and manage a robust sales pipeline through each phase of the sales process
• Develop new business relationships and accounts via direct sales approach, utilizing your Financial Services sector expertise
• Formulate and execute sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets
• Generate consistent daily outreach efforts including direct mail, digital marketing, and prospective client calls
• Present solutions via one-on-one, group, online, and in-person meetings
• Cultivate long-term client relationships through exceptional service delivery and deep industry knowledge
• Manage pricing, contractual negotiations, and client expectations
• Travel domestically and internationally for conferences and client meetings

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years successful sales experience, preferably within Financial Services
• Established network and relationships within the Financial Services sector
• Superior written and spoken English communication skills
• Proven ability to articulate value propositions and competitive advantages
• Strong relationship-building abilities with clients and colleagues
• Service-focused mindset with drive to exceed client expectations
• Ability to multitask and maintain composure in fast-paced environments
