Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential aerospace organization in Parsdorf, Bavaria, seeking a Software Test Engineer for their Ground Control Systems team. In this role, you will contribute directly to the development and maintenance of testing systems that support cutting-edge aerospace platforms.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows related to testing, automation, and software delivery
- Developing and maintaining test plans, test cases, and automating tests where feasible
- Working with existing Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setups, extending, debugging, and improving them over time
- Supporting integration, verification, validation, and qualification (IVVQ) activities for new firmware and software components
- Performing regression testing and refining the testing process for faster iteration
- Documenting test results, identifying failure patterns, and sharing insights with engineering teams
- Collaborating closely with PLC and software engineers to investigate field issues and incorporate learnings into the testing pipeline
What We're Looking For
Required qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in software testing within RTOS (real-time operating system) environments
- Fluent English language skills
- Hands-on experience with TwinCAT and Python for test automation
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies for real-time and automation systems
- Practical experience working with test rigs, hardware interfaces, and measurement tools
- Familiarity with data logging, tolerance measurement, and evaluating real-world variability
- Highly organized and proactive approach with excellent attention to detail and outstanding communication skills
Bonus skills that strengthen your candidacy:
- Experience designing or extending custom HIL/SIL test rigs
- Ability to create simulation models (for example, with MATLAB/Simulink)
- Knowledge of safety-critical standards (IEC 62061, ECSS-Q-80, ECSS-E-40, ECSS-Q-40, or similar)
