Staff AI Data Engineer (x/f/m)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential healthtech organization seeking a Staff AI Data Engineer based in Paris. In this role, you will build robust data pipelines that power AI systems serving healthcare professionals and patients. Working embedded within AI product teams, you will own the complete data lifecycle from capture through monitoring.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Design and implement data capture and ingestion systems ensuring data quality, privacy compliance including anonymization, consent management, and retention policies in adherence with GDPR requirements
• Build, optimize and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using Python, Dagster, BigQuery, SQL/Jinja, and DBT
• Enable AI model development by providing high-quality datasets for training, evaluation, and annotation workflows
• Develop custom monitoring solutions including online metrics pipelines and dashboards to track AI system performance in production
• Collaborate with data platform teams to optimize infrastructure, ensure scalability, and manage costs effectively

What we're looking for

We're seeking candidates with the following profile:

• 7+ years of experience as a Senior or Staff Data Engineer, or similar role with a focus on AI data systems
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and DBT for building production data pipelines
• Hands-on experience building data pipelines for AI/ML systems in production environments
• Strong understanding of the ML model lifecycle including training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring phases
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) stack
• Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with data science and engineering teams

Bonus qualifications that would strengthen your application:

• Experience with Vertex AI, MLflow, or similar ML platforms
• Experience with AI model monitoring and observability tools
• Background working with annotation platforms and labeling workflows
• Experience with AI coding assistants
• Familiarity with GDPR regulations and privacy-first engineering

The technical environment includes: Kafka/Debezium for data ingestion, Dagster/DBT for orchestration, GCS/BigQuery for data warehousing, and modern BI tools for reporting. The platform is cloud-native with a distributed architecture.
