About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential professional services organization seeking a Senior Editor to lead AI and technology content development for their global insights division. This is a permanent, remote opportunity based in Canada with flexibility across multiple provinces.

In this role, you'll serve as a senior editorial strategist and content leader, collaborating with subject matter experts, researchers, data scientists, designers, and multimedia teams to produce high-impact thought leadership. You'll act as both journalist and strategist, covering AI and technology topics while ensuring intellectual rigor, audience relevance, and editorial excellence across reports, articles, infographics, videos, and interactive content.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business leaders, researchers, and marketing teams to develop and execute research and insights projects covering AI and technology for a global audience
• Build relationships with internal subject matter experts, serving as a trusted advisor on content strategy and amplifying thought leadership
• Ensure intellectual rigor and credibility by evaluating data sources, methodology, claims, and conclusions in partnership with researchers
• Assess content for novelty in the generative AI era, alignment with audience needs, and differentiated value
• Determine optimal content formats and leverage multimedia approaches across reports, articles, infographics, videos, and dashboards
• Provide editorial support ranging from ghostwriting to developmental editing, adapting intervention levels based on project requirements
• Advise authors on messaging, clarity, accuracy, and best practices while preserving their voice
• Manage projects through the full content lifecycle, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders to meet quality standards and deadlines
• Edit for factual accuracy, readability, grammar, flow, style, and SEO/GEO optimization
• Utilize generative AI tools responsibly to improve efficiency while maintaining human oversight and quality assurance
• Coach content creators on writing style, storytelling techniques, and editorial standards
• Lead innovation initiatives and contribute to continuous process improvement
• Mentor junior editors and uphold editorial consistency across all content

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Minimum 8 years of experience writing, editing, and copyediting content in American English (business journalism experience preferred)
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in English, literature, journalism, communications, or related field
• Deep experience editing AI and technology articles and research reports
• Exceptional editing and copyediting skills with mastery of US English grammar, conversational phrasing, and Associated Press style
• Exceptional writing and oral communication skills; ability to translate complex concepts into accessible language
• Excellent attention to detail and laser focus on quality
• Journalist's instinct for fact-checking and critical thinking; ability to evaluate research methodology, spot logical gaps, and ensure precision around statistics
• Audience-first orientation, considering content from the target reader's perspective
• Versatile skills from writing headlines and web copy to developmentally editing long-form research reports
• Experience creating multimedia content
• Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with ability to interact with and influence personnel at all levels
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, content management systems, and collaboration tools (Workfront, Microsoft Teams, etc.); knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to manage multiple projects with quick turnarounds simultaneously
• Ability to work independently and with multifunctional teams

Preferred:

• Experience working for a business news publication or publishing house
• Experience with corporate thought leadership and global, cross-industry content
• Experience working remotely with a global team

Pay

The salary range for this position is $104,000 - $215,000 CAD annually, with eligibility for bonus participation. Compensation reflects experience, qualifications, and market positioning.
