People Operations Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential legal technology organization in their search for a People Operations Lead based in London. Our client is a fast-scaling company at the forefront of AI innovation, backed by significant venture funding and trusted by leading professional services firms across the UK and US.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who takes pride in operational excellence and wants to build the infrastructure that enables a growing team to do their best work. You'll run the core People operations engine while continuously improving systems, processes, and workflows using modern tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own the complete People operations engine: onboarding new joiners into HRIS systems, managing UK and US payroll inputs, coordinating benefits administration, processing employee changes, and maintaining accurate People data
• Ensure operational precision around background screening, compliance deadlines, employment documentation, and transactional employee queries
• Configure HRIS workflows, improve system setups, and lead defined projects such as compensation reviews or performance cycle tooling inputs
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying operational friction points and implementing solutions autonomously
• Maintain security and compliance standards, following ISO 27001 protocols for handling sensitive employee data
• Serve as the operational backbone of the People function, ensuring nothing falls through the gaps during rapid organizational scaling

What We're Looking For

• Solid experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or People Systems where you've not only run recurring work but actively improved processes
• Hands-on HRIS expertise beyond basic data entry: creating custom fields, configuring workflows, and optimizing system functionality
• Meticulous attention to detail in payroll inputs, employment documentation, background screening, and sensitive data management
• Ability to establish yourself quickly and operate autonomously, bringing solutions rather than just questions
• Comfortable and energized by working in a scaling environment where processes are still being refined
• Strong operational mindset with a track record of identifying and fixing systemic issues

Particularly valuable:

• Experience with HiBob or comparable HRIS platforms at admin or configuration level
• UK payroll input experience, UK benefits administration, or background screening coordination
• Track record of leading or contributing to People systems improvement or process automation projects

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: £65,000–£75,000
