About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential healthcare technology organization that is transforming how primary care is delivered across the United States. This is a fully remote Principal Data Scientist role where you'll lead quantitative research initiatives that directly impact patient care and healthcare delivery optimization.

We're seeking a seasoned data science leader who can apply advanced analytical methods across risk stratification, causal inference, health economics, and financial modeling. You'll work at the intersection of clinical care and data science, partnering with physicians, engineers, and business stakeholders to drive evidence-based decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk stratification initiatives to identify patients requiring urgent care intervention
• Design and execute causal analysis studies to measure platform impact on healthcare delivery outcomes
• Conduct health economics research to identify care delivery inefficiencies and optimization opportunities
• Develop financial models evaluating economic performance in value-based care settings
• Build analytical pipelines and reporting frameworks that enable data-driven business decisions
• Provide strategic data science insights to executive leadership
• Mentor junior data scientists and analysts on technical methods and research design
• Collaborate across engineering, product, and clinical teams to integrate data science solutions
• Champion best practices in data governance, security, and ethical research standards
• Stay current with quantitative methods and healthcare analytics trends

What We're Looking For

• Graduate degree in statistics, computer science, biostatistics, health economics, or related quantitative field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years of experience in quantitative analysis and data science roles
• Deep expertise in causal inference, Bayesian analysis, and machine learning methods
• Proven track record leading impactful data-driven projects in healthcare analytics
• Strong experience with Medicare and value-based care models
• Background establishing data science infrastructure and working alongside engineering teams
• Proficiency in SQL and Python (familiarity with R or other languages is a plus)
• Experience working with diverse healthcare data sources including claims, clinical, and administrative data
• Demonstrated ability to balance rigorous research with rapid delivery in fast-paced environments
• Strong communication skills translating complex quantitative concepts for non-technical stakeholders
• Track record mentoring and developing junior team members
• Commitment to ethical research practices and bias mitigation
