Federal Planner – Department of Defense

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential federal consulting organization seeking a Federal Planner - Department of Defense to join their practice of experienced planners, GIS professionals, and project managers. This is a remote or hybrid position requiring periodic travel (25%) to DoD sites across the United States and overseas. U.S. Citizenship is required for this role.

As the task lead and lead planner on multi-disciplinary planning projects for U.S. Department of Defense clients, you will drive strategic planning initiatives that directly support military mission priorities and real property objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead federal planning projects for DoD clients and facilitate successful outcomes across multiple concurrent initiatives
• Support project-based client and stakeholder engagement both virtually and in-person at military installations
• Prepare complex deliverables including Master Plans, Requirements Analyses, Planning Charrette Reports, and Facility Space Plans
• Collaborate with Project Managers to organize multi-disciplinary teams and ensure deliverables are submitted on time, within scope, and to client satisfaction
• Travel to DoD sites domestically and internationally approximately 25% of the time

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Minimum 5 years of experience working with or for the DoD on federal planning projects
• Continuous and progressive leadership experience on DoD federal planning initiatives
• U.S. Citizenship (required for DoD access)
• Advanced knowledge of federal planning principles, military mission priorities, and DoD real property assets
• Experience using DoD data systems and guidance, including real property systems of record
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
• Proven quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to effectively convey data-driven planning recommendations
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a track record of delivering high-quality client deliverables
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and work independently
• Availability to travel to DoD sites (25% of time)

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in urban planning or related field, or equivalent professional planning experience
• American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) credentialing
• Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Suite, AutoCAD, and/or Adobe Suite

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $85,619 – $112,375, dependent on experience and expertise.
